Gear Effects
Up to Five pieces of gear can be equipped to each Argonaut team to power them up. There are 3 tiers of Gear, each with their own Multiplier as outlined below. More details here.

Multiplier Example
Using the same team as before, 1 Celestial and 3 Petz, but now with 2 rare and 1 common gear.
10 (Special Argonaut) + (3 Petz * 2) = 16, making this a Tier 2 powered team
Base power * (1+sum(gear multipliers)) = 16*(1+sum(0.4,0.4,0.2)) = 16*2 = 32
The team is now a Tier 3 powered team because of multipliers
